Client : Hospital in Bangalore, an innovative care centre that is part of one of India's most well-known healthcare groups that has a vast network of hospitals across India.
Requirement : A 350-bed super speciality hospital wanted to increase process efficiency, improve patient satisfaction and boost staff morale. They wanted to reduce the turnaround time for health checks and diagnostics centre and minimise the patient queries to complete the schedule making it an automated queue. Overall footfall for these two departments combined was around 500 per day.
Offering from VirtuaQ : VirtuaQ offered a customised queue management system that works on data collected from patient footfall observed in all the departments and predicts the path of maximum efficiency by using precedents seen from the preexisting data of the average time taken for a patient in a particular department. This was integrated with the existing HIS and Digital Signage system the hospital was already comfortable with.
VirtuaQ team developed a pooled queue concept for Health check patient flow management. As a new step, VirtuaQ Smart queue management system was implemented which had the pooled queue flow to manage health checks patient flow. The system considers all the queues each health check patient has to go through and ensures that each person goes through the process step in the fastest time with minimum wait times. This was integrated with existing HIS and Digital Signage system.
Staff who had to guide patients were now freed up to assist in other hospital duties. They did not have to repeatedly answer queries on which department to visit, which greatly reduced staff frustration.
Average processing time for a patient reduced significantly by 33%, allowing patients to have health checks addressed faster without compromising on quality.
